The 1992 edition improved significantly on the original 1836 Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, this new edition adds even more references and makes it even better. If you have been using a free version it I worth upgrading.

It has no equal on planet Earth, and probably will never have. It's the most comprehensive cross-reference commentary to the Bible. I find it especially useful as I do a lot of research on biblical matters and doctrine, and I'm always in need of in-depth scripture references to support biblical claims, and this cross-reference commentary certainly does all that. I've always yearned for a more comprehensive cross-reference tool, and now, finally, I have it. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Reviewed by (Marshall Mann, Glen St Mary, Florida, US) - The "Ultimate" cross-reference is as stated very enhanced as compared to the standard "Treasury of Scripture Knowledge" and has been, for me, more useful as a scriptural "cross-reference" only. However with that said, I find that the author will inject his own opinions and interpretations of biblical scriptures. The problem with this of course is that the reader can be lead to interpret a passage based on the author's own bias. I find that it is often better to ignore the author's comments and simply use the scriptural cross-references. Everyone has an opinion and my own is that with the AV Bible, scripture should be able to interpret scripture. That is the point of using a true "cross-reference" where "scripture itself is able to interpret scripture" without personal bias.

I continue to be amazed at it's simplicity to use and the number of great modules I can download and so many for free! Those that I have purchased have allowed me to put various bible's "under one roof" to allow me to study and compare and contrast. Whether, preparing a sermon or digging into research on Greek and Hebrew words and origins, e-sword has been so superior and I have highly recommended it over the years. The word processor is convenient and fun to use. I love being able to copy and paste scripture into my notes and produce and save work I have invested time and energy in. It is the most valuable piece of software I own and Rick Meyers has been the electronic Guttenberg of this age, getting the word of God and it's accompanying "helps" into so many hands world wide. Heaven can only tell how many peoples and languages have been blessed by this remarkable Software.

Reviewed by (Graeme Morrison, Corby, Northamptonshire, England) - I really appreciate the way that E Sword allows you to use see different translations all at the same time The new Ultimate cross Reference Treasury is a welcome expansion on the older cross reference tool
so the pros would be a much greater quick access to other references on the same or similar subject.
The cons would be that the authors theology both faith alone and Millennial teaching is too much ingrained in many of the extra comments to be useful for some.
For a young Christian many of the comments would be unhelpful in the sense that it would detract from the truth of the scriptures and pushes one mans interpretation's instead of allowing the scriptures to speak for them selves.
If you can ignore the many of the extra comments then it is a useful tool.

I often use it quickly, too, though - scanning references on a topic or passage prior to looking at other "commentaries" as the app works in that panel. A good place for it, too, btw. Seems to have all the TSK (so I hid that one) plus many more cross-references listed by sub-topics. Hover works perfectly. A really solid bible resource that all will find helpful. Well, virtually all.

Let the Bible interpret the Bible; this tool greatly aids you in this. Time and again we see even well studied scholars make errors in their understanding of the Bible due to personal bias or due to extra Biblical material having too great a place in their study. It's time the Church re-affirmed that the Bible itself is enough. Scholars can help you find some things quicker, however far more of our time should be devoted to a tool like this leading us through Bible verse after Bible verse as we study a concept or a word. You will be shocked at what the Holy Spirit drops in your heart if you study this way; you must mine God's word for the precious gems it holds and this tool is a big tool for doing that.

But it still lacks a more complete theological cross reference to add onto it. For example: When we read Genesis 1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. the book list all possible cross references, except one that has to do with The Light of the world, Jesuschrist: In him was life; and the life was the light of men (Jn. 1:4 KJV).It will be a plus to have also the reciprocal cross-reference. The book needs to be perfected in order to be The Ultimate Cross-Reference Treasure.

The work and detail that went into creating this is really astounding. I have some good commentaries and some not so good. Also it makes conservative comments that are very helpful. You will not regret it and will broaden your understanding. Its add-ons, commentaries, dictionaries etc piggy back seamlessly - good value for money too! I use the programme & its additions constantly. Although I have some of these as hardbacks it is very useful having them on screen for immediate use. Having just downloaded the Ultimate Cross-Reference Treasury I shall test it out alongside the useful verse search facility in e-sword.

I am slowly getting to know how to better use this great tool, thank you e-sword, without you I would in no way be able to afford such a library of commentaries' and dictionaries. However, when I needed a cross reference, it was necessary to refer to my paper Bible for those needs. NO MORE! The Ultimate Cross-Reference Treasury more than fills that need, with selections beyond my ability to think of needing.
I can’t imagine life without eSword and am very grateful to those who make it available at no charge, and a request for a freewill gift.

One of the major features I really like is the verse/commentary linking. Read a verse and read the entries in the commentaries without stress! Well, adding the UCRT to the mix is a powerful addition. No matter the version of the Bible or where I happen to be reading, all commentaries, dictionaries, and supplimental books are linked so finding insights of the Ancient Authors is simple. I try to use the CCEL, but it's difficult because you start on the first word and work your way through. Good, yes, but time consuming. This is MUCH better!

Many of the questions people have about a certain verse can be answered by checking other verses that address that subject. Often, verses from the Old Testament clarify verses from the New Testament, and vice-versa. It is clear that the Bible has, ultimately, One Author!
The Ultimate Cross-Reference Treasury is a big help when looking for those other verses. It has more listings than any other Bible reference I have. I use it a lot when preparing my lessons.
I'd recommend this book for anyone who wants to know more about the Bible.

The Word of God explains and reveals itself so it is often more useful to do a study using this than just using a commentary. It is a fabulous resource and I use it everyday. In fact, it is my main source Of Bible study. I ordered the ultimate cross reference treasury thinking the original tsk probable could not be improved upon, was I wrong! This new work is extensive and put together nicely. I just plain enjoy it to my hearts content. It is everything the original is (and original is just awesome)and more. I like that it has explanatory notes and a commentary too. This work, along with the search function in e sword and the compare translations feature, make for a bible study time that can't be improved upon. There is nothing so illuminating and enlightening as comparing scripture with scripture, and this tool makes it possible to find and dig out many nuggets from Gods word and feed upon them. I would very much recommend this resource to anybody who is looking for an effective and fun way to study the bible.

The Ultimate Cross-Reference Treasure (UCRT) combined with the Treasure Scriptural Knowedge (TSK) which also comes from e-Sword. What one does not cover the other does. UCRT has the astrik showing the verse that is closest to the one that is being referenced. Also uses the "note" notation to bring up additional information.
Downloading UCRT took a little time. I mean the download went fine it just took a little time for it to show up on my downloader. That could have been my computer problem.
I really glad I purchased the UCRT. It is worth it's weight in gold. In fact e- Sword software is worth it's weight in gold.

References to other products (e.g. Strong's) is appreciated. Had the references NOT been keyed, they would be worth little; however, keying them so that the user can immediately see the cross reference makes it a valuable resource.

I purchased the New Treasury of Scriptural Knowledge as well. At one point I bought a case of TSK for my Sunday School class, telling them to take one only if they intend to use it. The Ultimate Cross-Reference Treasury continues in this same tradition and having it on E-Sword is a great convenience and help. I am impressed with this reference and recommend it to all. As it's predicessors, it allows you to use the Bible as a commentary on itself. Highly recommended.

The Treasury of Scipture Knowledge is an excellent resource to assit and teach cross referring and this Ultimate Cross Reference Treaurer is simply a welcome extension of that.
In the end a person must familiarise themselves and build up their own knowledge but this resource is a valuable assist and extremely useful in furthering that.
It is God Who gives understanding and ...not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
This resource is therefore to be recommended.
