Revealing Truth (4/13/2020)
Reviewed by (Cynthia Gage, Morongo Valley, CA, United States) - It is not easy these days, with so many publications being written, to find one that reveals truth from the Bible. Nelson's always comes through in simple and elegant text,to teach the meaning of scripture that for many have a hard time understanding it. The visual aids along with interpretations that are true to the spirit of the Word of God take you back in history to experience what Christ and the Apostles endured. Along with the old Testament, the Word of God becomes real... Great Publication, thank you for having it.

Commentary is OK, but much too slight (7/1/2017)
Reviewed by (Ed Arrington, Rogers, AR, US) - This is a fairly good commentary, but is too slight to be your "GO To" resource. The content is, however, conservative and dispensational. If you need a one-volume commentary, the Believer's Bible Commentary from eStudySource.com is a much better choice for not much more money, and I would give it a 5-star rating.

I also like that the entries are concise and too the point. They help me to clarify what the Bible is saying, which is the point of Bible study. To understand what is being said.

Reviewed by (Ram Vandereay, Handan, Hebei, China) - Definitely a good addition to e-sword. I live in China where the availability of products for one to study the word of God is VERY limited, as always I find the sources for e-sword to be of the greatest importance. If you're reading this comment please think about how fortunate you may be to live in a country where you can access the word of God without restrictions.

Solid theology (4/15/2014)
Reviewed by (Tom Finley, Oakboro, NC, US) - I got this commentary because it closely follows the notes in the NKJV Study Bible. The theology is solid, Biblical, and evangelical. I work with several one-volume commentaries, and this is the most reliable one. This commentary does not leave skim over the tough passages, but tries to be honest with the text. I have found the notes from the NKJV Study Bible a great help over the years and now I have a similar resource on my e-Sword!

Will's Review on Nelson's New Illustrated Bible Commentary for e-Sword PC (6/5/2012)
Reviewed by (Will Holak, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia) - The new commentary is extremely thorough. It encompasses the latest theological views with existing traditional ones giving you the best possible explanation of bible verses. I use this new commentary in conjunction with the 'Life Application Study Bible' (LASB) commentary for maximum understanding of scripture and how it relates to my relationship with the Lord. There are many scripture verses that if read without some explanation would still leave you perplexed as to its proper meaning no matter which bible version you may prefer. Often comparing a scripture verse with different bible versions can lead to even more confusion. This commentary negates such confusion and missinterpretation. I have no doubt, no doubt whatsoever, that if you too were to use this commentary, that just like I, you too will acquire both, a more in depth understanding of God's word as well as a closer personal relationship with the Father.

...another "must-have" to study the Word. (5/30/2012)
Reviewed by (Dayeton Larson, Elliot Lake, Ontario,, Canada) -

This truly is another "must-have" to study the Word of God. Fortunately ever since "E-Sword" came into being, it has been an absolute blessing to the world as well as me.The fact that the author considered it to be a ministry - he certainly had to have prayed to our Lord for His will be done.... I believe it was, and is! Bless his heart, and to the users. It truly IS a work of love and devotion to our God. eStudySource thankfully has taken to task of uplifting E-Sword by including their ways-and-means to help at a very reasonable price to the users, not to mention the work involved, (and there is), Bless them too!!! It can only be sumed up like this... Thanks!!!

Such features are very helpful in understanding the passages under study. I am thankful to eStudySource for making it available at such an affordable cost.

Commentary for all Seasons (5/14/2012)
Reviewed by (Winston White, Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, South Africa) - I have, over the years, added quite a few extra resources, all of which have increased E-Swords facility and my ability to understand God's Word and to prepare sermons. This most recent one, Nelson's New Illustrated Bible Commentary has continued in this usefulness. It s truly a commentary for all seasons; from the springtime of Bible study through the summer of Christian maturity and through autumn (fall)to the winter of walking with Him, as I am now doing. I would recommend it for anybody seeking clarity and sound commentary on His Word. The illustrations are a real bonus. In this age of PowerPoint they can animate sermons and teachings. Nelson's commentary is a worthy companion resource.

I am now reading scripture, experiencing the commentaries, completing the notes, dot down my own notes and searching for illustrations all on one site. The different commentaries complete each other. I print the notes and start working. For the past two Sundays I experience Sermon Joy.
