E-Sword has been my primary study tool for sometime. As a pastor you are always looking for a new way to express an old truth. I find having the NIV Bible (and a few other translations)on my computer screen, is a great benefit as it enables me easily and speedily to move back and forth to different scripture references. In addition, I find being able to do side by side comparisons of different Bible translations to be very beneficial. Furthermore, I find the eSword website facility powerful and effective - but I also know that I am not yet au fait with all the power the website has to offer.

It takes a lot to impress me but e-Sword has. I bought the NIV 2011 Bundle as this is the version used by my church (my own favourite is the KJV) and I have been pleased with the integration with the other Bible versions, commentaries and daily devotions that I use. I have always enjoyed highlighting my Bible? I was excited to be able to do this on the e bible. Just love the easy access and portability. I would love to see more features though....like underlining, more highlight colours, sticky notes etc. I wonder if e-source has a wish list.

The NIV offers a not only a modern translation that you can trust, but it is written where you can understand it. I don't think we should ever transliterate what God has said yet many times understanding is difficult. The NIV offers the simplest language and therefore offers insight into what God would have us know. In Romans 12:5 it says ..."and individually members of one another". NKJV but in NIV it says ..."each member belongs to all the others". You can see that the NIV offers an insight that the more formal translations force you to figure out. This is an excellent Bible for all but especially for the new student.

I am pleased with my purchase - my only complaint would be the price. I happened to buy what looks like one of the most expensive products - $25 for an e-bible seems very high. Other than that, downloading was fairly easy and I am using it for my daily study and sermon prep.

I was grateful for the use of today's English to read the Bible. The begats of the KJV, for example, made Bible reading a real chore. Other translations (paraphrased, etc.) corrupt the meaning of Scripture, but they may be useful for witnessing. The more I read the NIV, the more I became aware of its interpretting Scripture instead of translating. An example of this is the changing of measurements from cubits to feet. Fortunately, they correctly translated the measurements of the Temple to cubits. It is not the unit of measure that is important but the number associated to them. This is merely an example. A better translation is the NKJV.

I was introduced to e-Sword many years ago and have always used the free bible tools. I have used it for writing an insertion in a national daily newspaper for 6 years. It really has been a blessing. I only bought the NIV bundle a year ago, but I am happy I did. The NIV is my "usual sword" and it helps me as someone who hasn't been to bible college, studied Hebrew and Greek to link the passages I read to what was meant in those languages. The next helpful step would be if you linked the Strongest Strongs for NIV to the NIV bible like has been done for the KJV. And maybe an Android version. Congratulations for e-Sword. What a wonderful tool for studying the Bible. e-Sword is a great help to my message presentation. I has used them for years in my ministry at different countries including Singapore, China, Thailand and Indonesia.
The Bible verses can easily copied and pasted into the Powerpoint presentation. I am so gald that the Bible verses in English, Chinese, Thai and Indonesian can be edited and presented without much problem.
In the South East Asian gospel outreach, foregin languages are commonly used. Even though we may not be competent in languages like Thai and Indonesian, the believers can read those verses through projection. What more, graphics have make the presentation more more impressive and interesting than anything else.
e-Sword is well designed to accomplish the task of putting various languages on the slide. Once the main message is completed, additional languages from e-Sword can edited switftly.
My experience in Thailand, the believers are very blessed with Thai Bible scripts. They are so readily read their scriptures from their Thai Bible, and absorb the truth effectively with visual aids from e-Sword.
So as Chinese and Indonesian presentations, I am so glad that the believers' spiritual life have grown with the aids of their own languages.
Thank you so much for devising such a powerful tool for the use of gospel presentation. May God bless your labor for the extension of His Kingdom in other part of the world.

E-sword has helped my self and my husband study the Bible. What we really like about E-Sword is the fact that we can enlarge the text and be able to read what is printed. we also like the idea that we can get different verisions of the Bible and also the commteries on the word from eStudySource. I find that when I use the E-Sword I will read my Bible passages more. I am trying to read my Bible in a year or in 90 days. E-Sword is such a great tool for just reading God’s word, studying God’s word, or putting a lesson together on God’s word. The resources that you have at your finger tips are amazing. One click you can have a dictionary, commentaries, one or a series of parallel bibles to compare what each bible says for a greater understanding and of course a place to put down notes. I use E-Sword for study, but most of all, putting together lessons for teaching. You can copy and paste verses needed in the lesson no matter what bible you want to quote from. You can also copy and paste from the dictionary or commentaries which help put a lesson together with ease. This is a must have tool to have for anyone wanting to grow.

As a new believer (June 2011) and being unemployed, I was looking for resources to fill my new found hunger for studying the Word.

At first I wondered if the eSword product could be robust enough, what being free and all. Well, I was quite happily surprised at the depth of features in this product. And by the grace of God, a friend has thoughtfully given me a few dollars to buy a couple of eSword products I had wanted.

The ease of use in doing resarch into the Dictionaries and Commentaries has taken my understanding of the Word to a whole new level. And with the Parallel feature, I can quickly view various translations at once in order to form a more solid understanding of the original meaning of the verse(s).

I would hightly recommend this product to anyone who desires a more fulfilled understanding of Scripture.

Positive: The NIV is an easy reading Bible for new beginners who can't handle the older translations. Negative: However it comes with a cost to the reader of very poor translation. It's full of Man's opinions instead of what the Hebrew or Greek text truthfully teaches.

I bought the NIV pack - I don't at the moment have much use for the NIrV but the NIV 2011 is excellent. Although my initual attempt to purchase the NIV Bible had me circling through the pages of your web site I did manage to place an order and the process became easy and intuitive from that point on. Dowmload and instalation went well and I am really pleased to now have NIV Bible available through Esword. I did notice an error in (Mar 11:32) But if we say, 'Of human origin' bdellipsis" (They feared the people, for everyone held that John really was a prophet.) At least I failed to understand what bdellipsis was and that verse is rendered different in my other NIV Bibles. Beyond its a fantastic version to read and I love it.

I use NIV when I preach in my church but, when I went looking for an electronic version, I discovered that they were a bit beyond my price range. So I held off buying for a season. Then I came across the NIV 2011 Bundle on eStudySource.com. In my opinion, based on cost effectiveness, this is the best buy for an electronic version of NIV. At the moment, I use NIV for my preaching but, because we reach out to non-native English speakers, I know the NIrV will come in handy with its shorter sentences and simpler words. All in all, I highly recommend this bundle!

Very easy to download and run but it is the US version of the NIV that is supplied (not really surprising when it is a US program that is displaying this Bible!) but very useful none the less as I struggled to find another electronic NIV at this price. I had upgraded to Windows 7 and my previous electronic NIV did not work on this OS so had to purcase another version but wanted to do this as economically as possible, having already paid for one copy that was no longer of any use.

The NIV version of the bible is widely accepted as the modern standard and is my bible of choice for studying. This version is great and essential upgrade to the e-Sword, but, at 3 times the cost of a paper bible, it is an expensive enhancement.

I don&rsquo;t know how long this product has been available but at long last it IS available!

I always have been extremely partial to the NIV for my own study and reference of the Word. My main printed Bible is an NIV and I use it almost exclusively in my life.

When I saw that (finally) the NIV was available for e-Sword had to jump at the chance and get it! Now, I have my favorite version in eSword wonderful format! It&rsquo;s absolutely fantastic! I can now take the NIV with me wherever I go. It&rsquo;s like having my own Bible inside my computer.

e-Sword program is the best program for Bible study. It has great tools and add ons such as study notes, prayer requests, scripture memory games. I bought the NIV Bible add on package and although it is great, I thought it was a bit expensive considering I only wanted one of the Bible versions but had to buy the whole package anyway.
Overall it compares very well with other programmes on the market and I use it daily.

I bought this bundle last week. The new NIV version is easy to read and the words it uses are more contemporary. I can compare easily the difference between the old and new NIV version. However, I found that there are no cross references. As the NIV in print has a lot of cross references which are very useful, I would suggest the e-Sword include this in the next update.

The NIV Package for e-Sword is a MUST HAVE! Although I do not use this version for my personal study, it is used quite frequently as the Bible of choice for many churches and congregations out there. Having this version makes it easier for others to follow (in Bible studies, classes or lectures) if this is the Bible of choice for their church. I prefer the NIV 1984 over the 2011 version and it is good to see all 4 versions in parallel. Thank you eStudySource for the NIV package.

I have found this combination of NIV versions helpful &amp; easy to use. The parallel options make it practical when the often slight changes made between the 84 and 2010 versions are required.

I am really impressed with this resource! I esp. like the NIrV, which makes teaching God's Word so much easier here in India where English is a 2nd language for most. This is perhaps the best purchase I've ever made, esp. since I'm now writing courses for an online Bible College and can use the NIV (along with the other Bibles) for quoted references. I am doing a Batchelor of Ministry by distance while working part-time as a bus driver. In between runs I go to the library with my laptop and study. My computer bag only has room for a couple of books, but with e-Sword I have more room to take subject text books. It has helped me immensely and I like the ease with which I can switch from one reading to another. I wished I had purchased it some time ago. Thank you.

I'm really pleased with the new software. Because of my vision I have difficulty reading printed books or material but do just fine on the computer and this is a wonderful help. Not only that the ablitity to do rapid searchs and comparisons is just awesome.
I can instantly look into other versions from what I normally read, or get the concordance side by side. This software can cut what was once many hours of study and research down to a very short time. I'm still learning and exploring its capabilities but what I have learned so far is wonderful and a God send for an old guy like me.

The 2011 Translation of the NIV is the best yet. Usually the NIV was very biased towards pre-millennial and other Calvinist views. This newer translation is more centered.

Good, bad, or indifferent, I use the NIV as my every day bible, and yet I did not have this as part of resource collection in ESword. This to me is an added benefit. The download and install went well, and I am content, at least until I spring for the next add-on.

Everyone should have this translation available for comparison purposes. The price is right, and it would be well-worth a greater investment than this. While the NIV is not my personal first choice for Bible reading and study, it is a translation I would hate to be without. I always check it, so am very glad to have it available for E-Sword. I was particularly pleased to obtain the latest edition of the NIV Bible which I have used constantly for many years. There appear to be quite a lot of changes to the '84 edition and to have the four editions together in parallel for comparison is a real bonus.

I have almost every e-Sword translation available and was especially pleased to get these in a package. The TNIV is definitely one of the best and most accurate translations available today. Gordon D. Fee, who wrote "How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth" uses it as his main translation, as do many other scholars. And the parallel view in e-sword allows you easily to see what changes were made in the revisions. Definitely worth its price!

Thanks for developing eSword and for ALL of the other enhancements over the years. I read through the Bible each year using eSword and an MP3 version for audio. Now I can read through the NIV with this download!

This bundle was just what I needed to complete my library for my own personal study. Frequently, I find the NIV is the version of choice among many churches I visit, but since I don't have it my library, I am often quoting from other, less-known versions. Having these available at a reasonable price reduces the distractions for my audience.

I have not used this NIV package very much yet, but it looks like it will be a good help. I wish it also came with the Strong's numbering system. I am a pastor of a small church. e-Sword has saved me many hours in my message preparation. I find its Bible search function to be a big blessing by being able to enter more than one word at a time and thus narrow my search when seeking a specific verse or verses on a specific topic.

I am a regular user of e-Sword for the last few months. I recently purchased and installed the NIV Family Bundle. I am used to reading the KJV Bible from my childhood, and recently started reading the NIV. I was looking for a parallel Bible that will help me to compare both versions. e-Sword has given me that option adding new meaning and joy to my Bible reading. I praise God for all those connected with the e-Sword for the fabulous facilities they are providing at almost no cost. The NIV is one of those translations that is a "must have" for the scholar and the daily Bible reader. I was told by a professor at Judson College of Elgin, IL that it is "conceptually" one of the most accurate translations to English. I like the way it is very reverent, yet easy to understand. I have several of the translations purchased at this point and find myself using it quite frequently. I find myself in awe of these people who have sacrificed decades of their life so that another generation could peer into God's Word with clarity and confidence.
